Since I picked up this product from BeautySpin a few months back, I have become totally obsessed with the appearance of my eyebrows. For months, I had just been using eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows, but this product - along with a few others - changed it all for me. I knew it was time to finally 'up the brow game' and that's exactly what this product did.

This Maybelline product retails for around about £5. Personally, I think this is a really affordable price for a drugstore product. There are three shades (and one clear) available - deep blonde, medium brown and dark brown. These shades cover most eyebrow shades, so it caters for most people. Personally, I went for the lightest shade; deep blonde, because I have light to medium eyebrows and I wanted something quite subtle.

The Maybelline Brow Drama is a gel-like substance which is very easy to apply. It's one of the most convenient products that I have. I usually tend to use it along side other products, but it can definitely be applied alone, really quickly, when you're in a rush. The wand is slightly strange - it begins like a mascara wand and then comes to a ball at the end of the brush. The ball is quite big and sometimes can prevent precise application. Luckily, I have quite thick eyebrows, so the big ball wand doesn't go outside of the eyebrow line much. I can imagine it would prove more difficult with thinner eyebrows. I find it's still quite hard to get to the edges of my brows without getting the product in the wrong area. Sometimes I can be left with dots of gel in places. Also, the product always collects at the top of the ball, so you have to remove it each time before applying it to your brows to make sure it's applied evenly. I find that uneven application can cause the liquid to become clumpy and collect in one place. Once you have used it a few times, you get used to using it tailored it to your eyebrow shape.

I find that this product can only be applied a little at a time. If you put too much liquid onto the brows, it can become clumpy and 'bitty'. I must say though, if you are cautious with the application, it will last all day and won't budge at all. When I apply it carefully, the brow gel is very trust-worthy. It remains the same as it was at application and keeps my eyebrows in place, what more could I need?!

I tend to use this brow gel along with a brow pencil and a little eyeshadow. It works a miracle in terms of holding it all in place. It also fills in any little gaps I have left unfilled with my eyebrow pencil and eyeshadow. When I am in a rush, I will use this alone just to give my eyebrows a little bit of shape and colour. It's one of my 'I'm lazy, give me quick makeup' products.

I would recommend this product if you're looking for something to secure products on your brows or to add a little more definition to your natural brows. It's a very subtle product that looks very natural. It's definitely a product I will repurchase when it runs out.

Have you tried the Maybelline Brow Drama?

  1. Lovely review! I only tend to use an eyebrow pencil or an eyeshadow to fill in my brows. But I do want to try something a little different. This product may be a good start. It sounds great for when you're in a rush x
