THE WINTER COAT EDIT

Winter Coat Edit

Seeing as it is winter (nearly spring, but let's face it, spring never gets much warmer), I definitely managed to justify buying two - yes two - new coats within a week. You know a few weeks back when it got extremely bitter all of a sudden? That was when I felt it was suitable to buy some new coats! Oh, I was definitely right!

Being one of those people that are always, always cold, coats are essential to me. You could send me on holiday to somewhere tropical and I would probably still have cold hands and feet. Yes, I am that annoying person that always moans about being cold (sorry, not sorry). But hey, that's just another reason to buy more coats (I already have a growing collection of about 6 coats).

Anyway, here's to getting down to my two new coats...

The first coat I bought was the burgundy wool-look collar coat. I bought this coat from a charity shop and it only cost me £2.49! Yes, £2.49. It's originally from Marks and Spencer's, so it is amazing quality and in a brilliant condition. I love the colour of this coat as I find it fits with almost every colour I wear (except the one off pink/coral I have in my wardrobe). Seeing as I wear a lot of black now-a-days, I thought it would add a bit of colour to what I wear. Guess what else? This coat actually has hand length pockets (I don't find this a lot with women's coats) to keep my hands warm! It is a very warm and cosy coat too! Definitely a good purchase for a long and cold few months.

As well as the coat, I bought a new scarf on the same day from the New Look sale. It's a very fluffy scarf and has managed to sprawl it's fluff all over my new coat. Ah well, it looks a bit like it's been snowing, I'll stick with it!

The second coat I recently picked up is from Apricot. It's a tan and white suedette faux shearling jacket. I have had my eye on a faux shearling jacket for quite a while now, I have seen them in a few places, including Apricot a month back. I fell in love with this coat when I went to the Apricot in Bristol, but as is always the case, they didn't have the size I wanted. So, I waited and found the same one in the Bath Apricot store that was the size I wanted. Good things come to those who wait, you see.

This coat was in the sale and so I only paid £20 for it. It was originally £39 so I got roughly 50% off. I am all up for bargains! Although I am gutted to see that it has now gone down to £15. Damn.

I love this coat because it's relatively small compared to my other coats, but it's still super warm because of the faux wool lining inside. This style is also very fashionable at the moment which I hope would make me look a bit 'classy'. Who knows. It is also a very neutral tone which means that it pairs well with a range of different colours. Coats have always got to be easy to pair with outfits!

Overall, I have been very happy with my coat purchases this month. I will definitely be warm this winter!

Have you picked up any new coats for winter?

  3. That shearling coat is gorgeous! I didn't buy a Winter coat this year as it took so long to get freezing cold that I couldn't justify the price the tag. I just bought a bomber jacket that I'm dying to wear but it's definitely a spring/summer lighter one. Roll on Spring!!
