JANUARY BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

12/02/2016

With Christmas having been and gone a month ago, I had a few new beauty products to try out. I think that's one of my favourite things about Christmas, the accumulation of piles of beauty products to try out after hand. I love testing out new beauty products and finding new favourites. This month, I have definitely found some new favourites that I will be taking into February with me!

Jessup Brush Set
I couldn't find the ones I bought on Amazon, but I found some very similar ones. These brushes are absolutely amazing and cost roughly £10-£12 for 10 brushes! I read/watched many reviews before asking for them for Christmas and I heard many people say that they were great Sigma dupes. £12 compared to considerably more than £100 for a similar set from Sigma - no questioning about it, I had to try them! I have had nothing but flawless results using these brushes and I would highly recommend them. I have cleaned them several times over and they haven't been at all miss-shapen. The brushes themselves are quite dense, but not too dense as they are still really gentle on the skin. The bristles are also really soft. What more could you want? A perfectly made and beautiful looking set of face and eye makeup brushes for less than £15!

Barry M Chisel Cheek Contour Palette
This palette was one of my favourite beauty products at the beginning of January. Since then, I haven't been using it as much. Due to illness, I have become paler over the last few weeks and so the shades no longer fit my skin tone. The only thing is that this palette comes in one set shade range only. So, if you're paler than average, there's not much point investing. If you have a dark skin tone, the shades can be built up, so it's definitely worth a try for you. At the start of January, this palette was pefect for my skin shade and I was using it daily without fail. It's still a palette I would highly recommend to anyone who isn't really pale. It is brilliant for contouring, can be built up and gives excellent results, just not if you're pale. I have this palette stored in my drawer waiting for when I get my colour back!

Soap and Glory Brow Archery
Before this miracle came along, I was using eyeshadow to fill my eyebrows in - I know, not always a good look, right?! I thought it looked okay, until I came across this and saw such a dramatic difference, that I can't even look at old pictures - the brows, just why?! This brow product has a pen one end and a brow pencil the other end. I use the pen to outline my eyebrows and then use the pencil to fill them in. They look so much more natural when you use a pencil - it allows you to make little brushes that look a lot more natural and eyebrow-like. The shade I have - Love Is Blond - is also the perfect shade for my brows. I cannot put this product down. Only down side? It runs out quite quickly, I'm already having to think about buying a new one. Good job it doesn't cost a bomb!

Autograph Gel Effect Nail Polish
It's not often that I include nail polishes in my blog posts, purely because I don't tend to find many that I love - except Barry M polishes. I've found my trust in Barry M now and I don't find myself venturing into new brands often. Before I received this for Christmas, I hadn't heard of Autograph and so wasn't too sure what it would be like. I loved the colour immediately - I love dark autumnal colours! Quite often, I find that Gel polishes are really gloopy and take a long time to dry, but this polish is the perfect consitency. It leaves a really pretty shine and dries quite fast too. Oh, and it's a cruelty free product, too! I must say, it's one of my favourite nail polishes, ever. It's a definite winter essential.

So, these are my January beauty favourites! Do you have any favourites at the moment?

    1. Thank you, Nicole! I agree, I just don't feel like forking out loads for makeup brushes. I love brushes but not so much that I would spend hundreds on them. There's so much other things on my makeup wishlist! ;) Definitely give these a try and let me know how you get on! xx
